Policies

The use of our space, tools, and repair advice is always free, but we have
a few expectations of visitors who use the shop:

Volunteers and visitors who use the workshop space or tools must sign in on our computer or clipboard each time they visit. This ensures that everyone agrees to our terms of use and helps us keep track of shop traffic to better design our programming.

For the safety and comfort of all our patrons and volunteers, a shirt and closed-toed shoes are required in the workshop area.

We expect that visitors put away their tools, wipe off their workbench, and dispose of any trash, recycling, or scrap metal in the proper receptacles before they leave. We begin putting tools away and cleaning up 15 minutes before close.

Visitors under the age of 18 must have a signed parent or legal guardian permission slip or be accompanied by an adult to enter the workshop area. We may not be able to accommodate unaccompanied youth visitors outside of our listed youth hours. Youth permission slips are available at the shop.

We are committed to maintaining a peaceful, family-friendly, substance-free environment. Persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol may not enter or use the workshop area.

In order to provide a safer space for all, oppressive language or behavior will not be tolerated. We ask that visitors who use the shop treat staff, volunteers, and one another with kindness and respect.
